Andrew Crescenzi

Head Coach - U9 Tier 1

Kitchener Rangers alumnus and AHL Calder Cup winner, Andrew signed his first NHL contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He went on to enjoy a nine year professional career, playing for the Los Angeles Kings and their affiliates before finishing his career overseas.

Since retiring, Andrew has opened up his own hockey school and has coached at different levels in an attempt to help the youth of today reach their full potential both on and off the ice.

Mark Rovere

Head Coach - U9 Tier 2

Mark Rovere grew up in York Region and played AAA for the York Simcoe Express Hockey Association for most of his minor hockey career. He has been coaching U7 and U11 hockey for last five seasons and is passionate about developing young hockey players both on and off the ice.

Mark currently works for the Regional Municipality of York and is committed to making York Region the best place to live, work and play. He is also a leadership coach and applies a variety of leadership techniques and approaches to ensure that each player has a tailored development plan that will allow them to improve and succeed.

Luciano Aquino

Head Coach - U8

Luciano Aquino began his major junior hockey career in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Brampton Battalion, where he played a total of 97 games from 2004-05 to 2005-06. During this period, he showcased his offensive skills, tallying an impressive 53 goals and 90 assists for a total of 143 points.

In the 2005 NHL Entry Draft the New York Islanders selected him in the 7th round, 210th overall.

Aquino's professional career extended into the American Hockey League (AHL) and the ECHL. Notably, during the 2007-08 ECHL season, he led the league in scoring and was honored with the IHL Rookie of the Year Garry F. Longman Trophy

Aquino’s career continued in Italy, DEL, EBEL, and SHL. In the 2009-10 season in Italy, Aquino was awarded with the most assists in the league. In addition, his team won the Italian Cup. In the 2012-13 season with EBEL, Aquino was awarded with the most points and assists in the league. In his final year of professional hockey in 2015-16, Aquino’s team were EBEL champions.

Mikhail Grabovski

Head Coach - U8

The Northern Saints are excited to have Mikhail Grabovski returning for the 2024-25 season.

The Montreal Canadiens drafted the Calder Cup Champion in 2004, and went on to play his first full NHL season with Toronto, collecting 20 goals and 48 points, leading all NHL Eastern Conference rookies in scoring in 2008. Grabovski has served as an assistant coach for HC Dinamo Minsk in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).

Zack Taliana

Head Coach - U8

Zack Taliana is a dedicated hockey professional with a passion for skill development. With a degree from Queen's University, Zack brings a combination of academic knowledge and practical experience to his coaching career. His seven years of coaching experience in skill development, coupled with his background in AAA hockey, have equipped him with a deep understanding of the game and a keen eye for talent.

Zack's commitment to excellence and his ability to connect with players make him a valuable asset to any hockey program.

Richard Gibb

Head Coach - U7

Richard brought home the U9 Tier 2

Championship to the Northern Saints in Year 1 and is looking for another with the 2024-25 U7 team.

Richard has been involved in coaching minor hockey for the past five years from coaching house league hockey for both sons to coaching the U8 Minor

Development program in 2022. Richard has had the privilege of leading the U8 team to an almost undefeated season, however most importantly he has had the opportunity to develop great friends with both players and their families. He has also had the ability to coach the Coyotes tournament team.

Richard won the coach of the year in East Gwillimbury in 2022.
