The York Region area has a strong footprint in the development and growth of hockey players, young athletes and, most importantly, good people.
In keeping up with tradition, the Northern Saints wanted to honour the area and community with a name and crest that was significant to this storied history.
The crest has a strong presence in the beauty of the York Region. Amongst the hockey relevance and scenery of the region, the significance of the star represents the symbolism of the Northern Star.
Polaris is a star in the northern circumpolar constellation of Ursa Minor, and it is commonly called the North Star or Pole Star. The brightest star in the constellation continues to be visible to the naked eye.
Much like Polaris, we look forward to our young athletes building a strong foundation in their own “constellation”. With the foundation of sport, our focus will be based on development, community, and personal growth.
The significance of the star is to identify each member and their individual bright light towards their future.
The Northern Saints organization looks forward to the opportunity to help shape
and enhance the development of young individuals moving forward.

The Saints Name
In choosing the appropriate name for this new organization we wanted to honour the history of the teams and players with roots in our region.
The Northern Saints was decided on, and we look forward to continuing the grassroots development in our region.
The Saints name pays tribute to one who is virtuous, having and showing high moral values.
A kind person who is giving.
